earlx2: Architecture + Design // Education + Sustainability

Founded on the beautiful Central Coast of Australia by design educator and architect Allison and Dean Earl in 2010, earlx2 has relocated and reimagined their work to suit the West Coast lifestyle of BC’s lower mainland. As a university educator of design, sustainability, education and architecture courses, Allison brings a passion for learning and an activist mindset to all their design projects. They value non-traditional ways of living, alternative modes of habitation and believe that innovative design can be used as a tool towards a more sustainable future. Along with her partner Dean, they offer full architectural services to a range of projects, from small-scale alterations and additions to multi-family housing, from concept design to contract administration. They can assist you in bringing your dream to reality whether that’s a tiny home in your backyard or a complete cohousing community. Don’t hesitate to get in touch to share your vision with us.

As a passionate educator Allison also offers educational courses and workshops in Design for Sustainability to all ages of learners, in both formal and informal settings, as well as homeschool unit studies combining literature, art, craft and design. She has taught a variety of design courses at the various Architecture schools in Sydney, Australia and currently teaches design and sustainability courses at the University of British Columbia. When not designing or teaching, Allison is a vibrant homeschool mom to three energetic and creative kids. Check out their blog earlx2Wheels for updates on their worldschooling adventures.
